Gucci bans fur

(MENAFN) Gucci will be joining an alliance of fur-free companies, and will sell the leftover accessories and clothes made with animal fur in a charity auction.

After being pressured from animal rights activists and changing consumer tastes, the Italian company won't be using any fur in its designs starting 2018, and will look for alternatives, along with other fashion houses.

Manager of animal-free fashion at Italian campaign group LAV said: "Gucci's decision will radically change the future of fashion."
