Rivals Hamas and Fatah reached agreement


(MENAFN) Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said in a statement on Thursday that Palestinian rival parties Hamas and Fatah have reached a deal over political understanding, he didn't provide further details.

However, details are expected to be released at a noon news conference in Cairo, as Hamas official told reporters, noting that unity talks between the two began on Tuesday.

Haniyeh said in a statement "Fatah and Hamas reached an agreement at dawn today upon a generous Egyptian sponsorship".
