Yemeni Minister Condemns Seizure of 10 Relief Trucks by Coup Militias

Taiz, Yemen, Muharram 20, 1439, October 10, 2017, SPA -- The Yemeni Minister of Local Administration Abdul Raqib Fatah, who is also Head of the Higher Committee for Relief, strongly condemned the forcible seizure by Houthi militias as they were on their way from Al-Hudeidah port to Taiz governorate in Yemen.
He called on the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen and the World Food Program to intervene urgently and mount pressure on the Houthi militias to release the trucks laden with relief assistance allocated to a number of governorates of the western coast of the country.
The Yemeni Minister expressed deep regret over the silence of UN organizations towards these continuous violations stressing that this silence is unacceptable, especially that most of the confiscated aid by coup militias have come from UN organizations.
Abdul Raqib also called on the international community to condemn the violations committed by coup militias against the Yemeni people and relief works.
