Qatar- QU to host symposium on Arabic novel today

The Cultural Village Foundation's Katara's Prize for Arabic Novel will organise a critical symposium on 'the narrative identity in the Arabic novel at Qatar University today. To be organised in cooperation with the Department of Arabic Language in Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University, the event is part of the activities of the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel festival in its third session which begins tomorrow.
A group of critics, academics and novelists from Iraq, Palestine, Algeria and Morocco will participate in the seminar.
Katara is to host a diversified programme that will start at 10am with a ceremony to announce the initiative of the novel and the visual art, followed by artistic shows in addition to a signing ceremony for novels participating in the Katara Prize for Arabic Novel. The festival will be concluded with a ceremony to honour the winners.
Katara Prize for Arabic Novel was launched to highlight Katara's important role within its five-year strategy that aimed at enriching the cultural landscape and focusing on supporting the culture and human arts through a project that brings together Arab voices from across the Arab world. Through the prize, the foundation seeks to be a new creative platform in the history of the Arab novel to promote international creativity among others.
