(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MOSCOW, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey lavrov discussed with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Monday the Syrian conflict, the situation in Ukraine and the tension in the Korean peninsula.
The two men discussed cooperation between Washington and Moscow to enforce the de-escalation zones in Syria as well as pushing forward the political settlement, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov underlined importance of stepping up fight against terrorists in Syria as well as respecting unity of the Syrian territories.
He also called for defusing the tension in the Korean peninsula amidst hightened military build-up.
Lavrov also called on the American side to return the Russian properties in the US, saying Moscow has the right to settle the American "confiscation" of Russian properties through courts.
The two sides agreed to continue dialogue to iron out outstanding issues, said the statement. (end) as.bs
