UK: record number of tourist


(MENAFN) Tourism in thriving in the UK with around 40m foreign people expected to have visited the country during this year.

According to British Tourist Authority chairman, tourism was worth 127b pound yearly to the economy.

He said: "Tourism is one of our most successful exports and needs no trade deals to compete globally."

The country has become less expensive for tourists to visit, especially after the drop in the value of the pound.

Through the first 6 months of 2017, 23.1m foreign visits to the UK were recorded, increasing 8% on the same period of last year.
