Batapola Arachchige Oranella Iresha Silva was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning in connection to an ongoing investigation over money laundering involving a company owned by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
The Immigration and Emigration department said that Iresha Silva was arrested at the airport on her arrival to Sri Lanka.
Earlier, the Colombo High Court had issued a warrant through Interpol for her arrest.
Iresha Silva is accused of being involved in laundering money amounting to Rs.30 million through Gowers Corporate Services (Pvt) Limited. (Colombo Gazette)
