UAE- DLD streams property data on smart screen

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Land Department (DLD) is showcasing state-of-the-art technologies at Gitex Technology Week to reflect its achievements in the real estate sector.

During the event, DLD displayed a 6x2 metre flip-dot screen for the first time, which provided an electromechanical representation of Dubai's real estate projects and DLD's real estate transactions, as well as a virtual reality experience for visitors.

Sultan Butti bin Mejren, director-general of DLD, said: "We wanted to equip our stand with a striking and memorable display that would be enjoyed by all visitors. Our choice to use a flip-dot screen complemented our launch of a number of important real estate services at the event."

The flip-dot screen is a mechanical installation. It consists of black and white small magnetic plastic dots controlled electrically to flip, converting content into mechanical movement. The screen is also connected to motion sensors and cameras that allow it to mirror the movement of visitors.

This is the largest flip-dot screen to be constructed in the Middle East. The screen will showcase live real estate transactions and project progress updates.

Bin Mejren added: "We are thrilled to showcase Dubai property statistics and data in an innovative and creative way."

The DLD plans to move the screen to its headquarters in Deira, which will continue to showcase Dubai property updates and news.

DLD participated at the event under the slogan 'Simple, Secure, Fast' to demonstrate its commitment to providing quick, easy and secure services. This was reaffirmed when the department announced that it has adopted blockchain technology in cooperation with a number of government institutions and private companies, becoming the first government entity in the world to achieve this.
