Kaufland in Australia

(MENAFN) Kaufland, part of the Schwarz Group from Germany, one of the world's biggest retailers, has penetrated the Australian grocery market, as it has paid 25m USD to buy sprawling Le Cornu site on Anzac Highway, Forestville.

With a store space of around 20,000 sqm, and a variety of almost 60,000 products, shoppers need to prepare for an entirely different shopping experience.

An Adelaide retail expert commented: "It will be more akin to a Costco approach with a whole breadth of product offerings, including groceries and white goods."

Kauflad has over 1230 stores in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and other European countries, with up to 150,000 employees.
