Renault: by 2022 half of its cars will be electric or hybrid


(MENAFN) The French company has declared arrangements to make half of its vehicles electric or hybrid by 2022.

A tactical plan aspires to increase Renault yearly profits to 70b Euros (82.2b USD) in 5 years, from 51b Euros in 2016.

According to CEO Carlos Ghosn, Renault assured that it would offer 8 electric car models and 12 hybrid by 2022.

The declarations come while the world's biggest car manufacturers are changing their methods to profit from critical changes in the industry.

The company's goal is to make 2m vehicles a year outside Europe, compared with 750,000 vehicles last year.
