Oman- Orpic announces new board of directors


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) announced a new reconstitution of its board of directors to be chaired by H E Dr Mohammed bin Hamed al Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas.

The company announced that H E Sultan bin Salim al Habsi has been appointed as the deputy chairman of Orpic. Other new board members are H E Nasser bin Khamis al Jashmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Salaam bin Said al Shaqsi, member of the State Council and Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Lamki.

'Orpic would like to express its sincere gratitude to the departing board members for their leadership over the past years which led the company to accomplish the remarkable growth it enjoys today.

While at the same time, Orpic welcomes the new board and look forward to working under their leadership to continue its journey to achieve greater heights', Orpic said in a press statement issued on Sunday.

Orpic is one of Oman's largest companies and one of the most rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East's oil industry. Orpic's refineries in Sohar and Muscat, as well as the aromatics and polypropylene plants in Sohar, provide fuel, chemicals, plastics, and other petroleum products to the sultanate and the world.

To meet the growing equirements of Omani and international markets, Orpic is undertaking three strategic growth projects: Muscat Sohar Product Pipeline (MSPP), Sohar Refinery Improvement Project (SRIP) and Liwa Plastics Industries Complex (LPIC)], in line with the company's strategy to add value to the oil and gas resources of Oman.
