(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Nalin Chandna, leadership coach, trainer and an inspirational speaker in association with The Lighthouse Consultants brings the Global Youth Initiative (GYI) to Oman this October.
The GYI aims at training half a million youth worldwide on youth leadership skills. Here in Oman, this would be the biggest youth leadership event ever.
The event is supported by the National Youth Commission of Oman and is being held on October 11 from 9am to 12pm at Intercontinental Muscat. Students, teachers and senior officers from schools and colleges across Oman get to attend the event for free. Chandna, a John Maxwell Team member, has been trained by New York Times bestselling author, leadership authority and speaker Dr John C Maxwell.
In April, multiple small events were also held under the GYI programme wherein 650 youth from various schools in Oman were trained. Encouraged by the overwhelming response to the last event, the John Maxwell Team is committed to make this event to be even bigger and grander. The event is expected to be attended by dignitaries, diplomats and senior officers of participating educational institutions.
The GYI is an international movement comprising hundreds of free community events with topics ranging from leadership development, having a positive self-esteem, overcoming the fear of failure, responsible use of social media, making the right choices, importance of ethics and integrity and more to help the youth in communities around the world thrive. The series of events under this initiative are being held worldwide Monday, October 9 through Sunday, October 15 in large cities and small villages internationally.
Chandna said, 'Through the John Maxwell Team Global Youth Initiative, we have the chance to influence tomorrow's leaders today. With John Maxwell, I've learned that leadership develops daily, not in a day. Our goal is to spark an intentional and lifelong interest in leadership in today's youth and help them become the change they wish to see in the world.'
