Two Kuwaiti MPs request grilling of State Minister for Cabinet Affairs

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti lawmakers Riyadh Al-Adsani and Abdulkarim Al-Kanderi on Sunday presented a grilling request against State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Information Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

The grounds behind the grilling include the Cabinet's alleged handling of five matters, including the state budget, unemployment, auditing, concealing information from the National Assembly and the role of the Legal Advice and Legislation Department.

According to the request, the first point covers Cabinet "irregularities in executing the state budget and non-commitment to enacting decisions." The second outlines "government failure" in handling unemployment and state projects, while the third targets refusal to establish an internal auditing body at the Information Ministry, and imbalances in the ministry's expenditure and revenues.

The grilling also accuses the Cabinet, in its fourth component, of "concealing information and delaying responses to parliamentary inquiries," which was regarded a breach of the constitution.

Meanwhile, a fifth component accuses the Cabinet's Legal Advice and Legislation Department of not establishing an inspection and auditing office. (end) ns.sd
