UAE- Pakistani family survives as car overturns in Jebel Jais

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Three members of a Pakistani family survived an accident after the car they were travelling in overturned several times at a rough mountainous spot on the Jebel Jais road.

On being alerted of the accident, the central operations room of the RAK Police dispatched traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site immediately.

The family was lucky as the accident took place just at the entrance of the mountainous Jebel Jais road.

Major Tariq Al Sharhan, head of the ambulance and rescue section at the RAK Police, said his team was informed about the accident on Saturday around 6pm.

"The section immediately dispatched two special rescue vehicles with four rescuers onboard to the rough mountainous site which is not easy to reach in regular vehicles."

The rescue team discovered a three-member family -- father, mother, and 17-year-old son. "The trio was stuck in their damaged car which overturned several times, and was trapped in a rough rocky area."

Major Sharhan said the rescue men provided first aid to the injured family. "They only managed to shift the father and son who could walk to a reachable site, and they were moved in a national ambulance to the Saqr Hospital for treatment and medical care."

However, the mother was badly hurt, and could not walk to the rescuers who were unable to get down to her because of the rough bumpy place, he noted. "The mother was later airlifted in a helicopter of the armed forces to the same hospital."

As per the medical report, the mother sustained moderate injuries and fractures while the father and son sustained minor injuries, Major Sharhan explained. "The trio received treatment and their condition is stable now."
