(MENAFN) Jeddah witnessed an attack at a security guards checkpoint at the western gate of Al-Salam Palace where two Royal Guards died and three others were wounded.
The gunman, Mansour bin Hassan Al Ameri, 28, armed with a Kalashnikov rifle and three petrol bombs was dropped dead on the spot after the attack.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Mansour Al-Turki said, "The gunman left his vehicle and started shooting at the guards, and investigations are continuing".
