Women to drive Uber in Saudi Arabia

(MENAFN) Uber is training women to drive in Saudi Arabia as the Saudi government announced a decision allowing women to drive in the country following a decree issued by the country's ruler king Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

While 80 percent of the users of the Uber application are women, Uber made an announcement showing their intention to set up a specialized training center for women who desire working for the transportation company in the kingdom.

As the registration process is expected to start soon, Uber vice president and head of operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Pierre Coty said "We welcome the decision for women to drive in Saudi Arabia", emphasizing the role that Saudi women play being the most app users in the kingdom.
