Taiwanese bank loses money due to hack attack


(MENAFN) Taiwanese police are trying to assist a local bank in tracing its lost money after hacker attacks, which may decrease its losses under 500,000 USD.

Hackers have used virtual transactions to move money to other locations, but no customer information was revealed.

Taiwan's criminal investigation bureau opened an investigation of the hacking process and with the help of the International Criminal Police Organization, they managed to get back part of the lost money.

According to a financial regulator, Other banks on the island are inquired to strengthen security control of telecommunications and transactions, and they are expected to build an information security network for the financial sector by the end of 2017.
