About D. Jonez
Son of a soldier, 'D. joneZ was born to Victor and Joyce Jones in Temple TX. Inspired by pain, D. joneZ began singing in the 4th grade. As a Member of both the concert choir and swing choir, his talent was first recognized by Mrs. Rhonda Westman, his favorite choir teacher. Upon high school graduation, his parents moved the family to Augusta, GA . The new residence prove to be a golden opportunity. D. joneZ snagged the ‘bass' vocals for a burgeoning R & B group within 2 months. He became their ‘bass' man and made a-lot of accomplishments which were publicized in one of the local Augusta GA newspapers. Some of their noted public performances include; Augusta Mall talent shows, Foxy 103/Power 107 radio talent shows, a carnival talent show (in which they won 1st place), an Augusta May Fest, a few basketball half-time shows, and the 1992 Augusta Black Expo.
In 2003, Dana completed an r & b album entitled "Playa" which received moderate U.S., but better overseas success, with the help of CDbaby. Since then, D. rededicated his life to the real ‘super-producer' Jesus Christ & wrote 3 of his realest testimonials to date!; ‘Keep on Singin', ‘Praisin him Still' & ‘All Time High'- depicting to the very last word, his old AND new relationship w/Christ.
In October of 2006, D. made "The Move" to Atlanta GA to more seriously pursue his music career. While in the "dirty dirty", Dana touched bases with an Augusta GA-based entertainment group, and with them, participated in several club performances, as well as outdoor performances, (i.e. Gifford, S.C. June Fest & the James Brown Festival, in Augusta GA '06, only months before James Browns' passing), in which D. participated as a featured act.
While temporarily residing in Ohio, D completed his most inspirational yet soulful album to date, 'So Soul", in which D. himself proclaimed to be "the most innovative, soulful, thought-provoking peek into his life to date". With all faith, (not hope) that his musical aspirations will come to fruition! D has been blessed to sing along side several local Atlanta artists, who are destined to be among the fresh new talent here in the "A"! He's also had the opportunity to appear on several televised programs in the Atlanta area, to mention "Mid-Georgia" T.V./Internet affiliates, as well as "Atlanta Live", a local TV. station devoted to broadcasting quality gospel music to the masses; And as a result of D's hard work & due diligence, he signed with the biggest independent record label in the world, in Spectra Music Group, on June 20 2014, most certainly one of the most exciting phases of D's career. But, as all good things sometimes come to an end, so did his relationship with Spectra as of February 2015. However, firmly believing in the saying "when one door closes another opens"..thats exactly what happened when D joined forces with SMG Talent on Apr29 2015 (Teke Staley), and is now working with SMG Talent, as the next hot r & b star on the rise! D used his experience with Spectra to really buckle down and learn about the ins and outs of this music game. In March of 2016, an old friend of D Jonez's, "Hennessey Williams" introduced D to r & b crooner Urban Mystic and have since done several events together; having started his own label with distribution from Universal records, Urban Mystic developed ULMG Inc (Urban Life Music Group), so now of course, the possibilities for D's future are endless!
