(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) If you are living near Al Khan Corniche in Sharjah, be prepared to see and hear military helicopters, fighter aircraft, armoured vehicles and armed boats. But don't worry. It's just a drill.
The drill is a preparation for a military demonstration slated to be held on November 3, 2017, on the occasion of the UAE Flag Day. The Union Fortress Show highlights the distinctive capabilities of the armed forces in terms of its code of conduct, equipment and training to defend national interests and national security.
The headline draw at the free-to-attend event will be a live-action scenario of a joint exercise featuring every skilled component of the country's armed forces to shed light on their harmony and integration.
The exercise will also witness live action scenarios that reflects the vast capabilities of the UAE Armed Forces in dealing with internal security in collaboration with other security systems in the UAE.
This will be the second edition of the Union Fortress exercise. The first edition of the show was held at the Abu Dhabi Corniche on March 2.
