(MENAFN- Gulf Times) QIIB chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani al-Thani formally inaugurated the bank's new branch at the Doha Festival City mall 'as part of its strategy to expand and respond to the increasing demand for QIIB products and services.
The opening ceremony was attended among other dignitaries by QIIB chief executive officer Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad al-Shaibei, board members and senior executives.
Addressing the bank employees, Sheikh Dr Khalid 'stressed on the need to provide customers with the best service and utmost attention, combining speed with quality, as customers' loyalty deserves to be matched by high-quality services that meet the expectations of the various segments of the society.
A decision was also made to transfer customers' accounts at QIIB's Al Kharaitiyat branch to the Doha Festival City branch, which has long business hours and is easily accessible, particularly to customers in the surrounding areas.
Al-Shaibei said, 'This branch is a continuation of the strategy we had announced last year to review our local branches with the purpose of giving more attention to the local market and enhancing our presence in those areas, which are most sought-after from the point of view of our customers, particularly malls and important and densely populated areas.
He said, 'The new branch is a great addition to our nationwide branch network. It is the third in commercial malls after the ones at Ezdan Mall and the Mall of Qatar. Three new branches are being planned at the Doha City Center, Ezdan Mall (Wukair) and The Mall (Al Hilal). We hope these will soon be operational after all logistical, technical and administrative arrangements have been completed.
'Along with the expansion of its local branch network, the bank has strategic plans to develop alternative channels, which are equally important for customers. These include increasing the number of ATMs, giving attention to and permanently developing the call centre and constantly enhancing our mobile, telephone and online banking services. These help our customers' save time and efforts and acquire banking services that meet the best international standards, Dr al-Shaibei added.
QIIB's Doha Festival City mall branch will function Saturday through Thursday, from 9am to 9pm and on Friday from 4pm to 9pm.
