Three Turkish soldiers killed by PKK


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- Three Turkish soldiers were killed and five more were injured in a bomb attack by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists in the Yuksekova district of Turkey's eastern Hakkari province on Wednesday.

The wounded soldiers were taken to Yuksekova State Hospital.

Many armored vehicles were dispatched to catch the terrorists responsible.

PKK has been conducting armed violence in the southeastern part of Turkey since 1984.

More than 40,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the three-decade long conflict.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States. (end) rs.mb
