(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Waljat College of Applied Sciences (WCAS) in academic partnership with Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, India, organised an induction programme for Huawei's ICT Skill Competition Oman 2017.
This competition will be conducted by Huawei in order to promote ICT industry technology certification and develop ICT industry talent and a strong ecosystem.
Waljat College and Huawei have shared a long mutually beneficial relationship, which benefits the students in many ways. Huawei has been one of the major recruiters for the students and also has been an immense supporter in the area of students training and internship endeavours.
Team Huawei was represented by Malik Hamed al Wahebe, public relation manager, Huawei and Hamida Humaid al Hinai, human resource specialist. While welcoming the team Huawei, P K Singh, academic advisor, Training and Placement Cell, cherished the long mutually fulfilling association with Huawei.
The team from Huawei elaborated on the multi-stage process of the ICT Skill Competition, making the process clear to the students. The team also motivated the students by revealing the list of prizes to be won by the winners and runners-up which added to the enthusiasm of the audience. The finals of the ICT Skill Competition will be held in China.
Final year and pre-final year students of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and IT participated in this induction programme and got benefitted.
Dean Prof (Dr) S L Gupta appreciated the visit of the Huawei team and introduced to the students the Huawei's ICT Skill Competition programme (Oman 2017). He requested the Huawei team to collaborate for skill development of the students.
