Oman- Future Talents Tennis Programme launched
(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) With an aim to promote tennis and spot talented players among schoolchildren, the Oman Tennis Association (OTA) on Sunday has launched an initiative - Future Tennis Talent Programme (FTTP) - at the newly-renovated courts of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
The OTA chairman, Khalid Aladi, inaugurated the programme that witnessed the participation of 150 students and also officially opened the courts .
Salman al Balushi, the OTA executive manager, said, 'The first phase of the FTTP will include schools from the Muscat region and based on the success of the programme, it will be launched in other governorates in the coming period.'Students from ten schools were present on the opening day.
Aladi thanked the parents for their support and said that their backing is crucial in developing the child's potential and interest in the sport. 'OTA's main goal through this programme is to promote tennis among schoolchildren and create a wider pool of talented players,' said Aladi.
