Filipino man arrested for pedestrian crossing stunt
A 26-year-old Filipino was arrested by police for alleged criminal damage after a video went viral on social media showing a man running in front of a car – in a possible scam for cash – in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island.
The 29-second-video shows the man, in a black T-shirt, waiting at the intersection of Lockhart and Luard roads in Wan Chai at 9am on September 22. When a car turns left into Luard Road, the man suddenly runs in front of the car.

But the stunt was captured by a camera on the car dashboard.
The video went rival on social media before police started to investigate the incident.
Police later identified the man – suspected to have been involved in another criminal damage case in Wan Chai earlier, when a rubbish bin and a gas cylinder were thrown at motorcycles and bicycles on a road.
The man was arrested but later released on bail pending further inquiries.
