Jordan- GDP picks up by 2pct in Q2


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra) -- Jordan's gross domestic product (GDP) inched up by 2 per cent at fixed market prices in the second quarter of 2017, compared to the same quarter of 2016, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS).

The extractive industries sector recorded the highest growth rate of 34 per cent, followed by the social and personal services sector (4 per cent); the financial, insurance sector and real estate sector (3 per cent); the agriculture sector (3 per cent); the transport, storage and telecom sector (2 per cent) and the electricity sector (1 per cent).
