West Bank, Gaza sealed off for Jewish Holiday

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Ramallah: Israel imposed an 11-day closure on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip for the Jewish Sukkot holiday starting midnight Tuesday through midnight Saturday, October 14, the Israeli army announced on Monday.

The closure means Palestinian residents of these areas will be prohibited from entering Israel for work or anything else except for emergency medical reasons but only after permission from the office of the Israeli military's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Occupied Territories (COGAT).

Israel regularly seals off the occupied Palestinian territories during Jewish holidays.
