Egyptian team is in Gaza to oversee reconciliation
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Gaza City, Oct 1 (Petra) –– An Egyptian team crossed into the Gaza Strip Sunday as part on Egyptian-sposored efforts to achieve reconciliation between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas.
A Palestinian official said the three-member delegation, led by Egyptian ambassador to Israel Hazem Khairat, crossed from the Beit Hanoun (Eretz) border crossing with Israel and were welcomed by the head of the Hamas Politburo, Ismael Haniyeh.
Palestinian Authority culture minister Ihab Bseiso also arrived in the Gaza Strip within the framework of preparations for the takeover of the reconciliation government.
