Saudi university is opening a driving school for women


(MENAFN) The royal announcement to allow women to have driving license will take effect in June according to Saudi Arabian sources.

As princess Norah University located In Saudi Arabia reported, they will be opening a driving school for women, as it"s a first for this strict country after forbidding women of driving.

As the university added on Sunday that it"s getting ready to set up a driving school with the assistant of the related authorities.

It also added" This is the first such announcement following this week's order by King Salman to allow women to drive".

Saudi Arabia Government declared "taking this action will spread the joy and happiness on those who never believed their government will take such a humanitarian action.

Saudi Arabia was the only country in the world to forbid women of driving, According to princess Norah University, there are more than 60,000 female students in Riyadh and other cities who have longed to drive cars.

This decision is expected to affect not only women, but also car sales, and relevant industries, on the upcoming months before January when the government will value added tax.

As car makers including Ford, Nissan and Chevrolet rushed to reach Saudi women with their creative advertising campaigns, encouraging them to drive their cars.
