One arrest due to scandal in Volkswagen


(MENAFN) Former Volkswagen senior manager Wolfgng Hatz was arrested in Germany over emissions scandal, a report by Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper said.

The former head of research and development at Volkswagen luxury brand Porsche was arrested on Thursday due to an emission scandal following the investigations by Munich state prosecutors, the report said.

Hatz left the company after he was suspended from his role due to the exposure of corrupt action at Volkswagen.

He was responsible for power train development at the Audi and Volkswagen brands before his last position at Porsche.

However, during the investigations, Porsche sad that Hatz had assisted with internal investigations and left the company willingly, there was no sign of Hatz's involvement in illegal practices.
