Kuwait- Yemeni gov't warns oil companies against dealing with coup forces


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmad bin Daghir on Saturday cautioned the oil companies against striking any deals with the Houthi militia and coup forces loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh in Sanaa.

"Firms that violate this warning will face legal and financial punitive measures," the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the Premier as saying after a cabinet meeting in the temporary capital city of Aden.

Meanwhile, he highlighted the need of the energy investors ensuring sustained supplies of oil and gas in order to shore up the Yemeni economy.

Bin Daghir affirmed that preparations are underway to resume oil and gas production from the fields located in the liberated areas, particulalry in Aden governorate, south Yemen. (end) mdm.mmj.gb
