Jordan- Army foils drug smuggling attempt


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra)-- The Eastern Military Zone, at dawn on Friday, foiled a suspected smuggling attempt by 13 persons who tried to cross the borders into Jordan from Syria, a military source at the General Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said.

The military source also said that the rules of engagement were applied, where one of the suspects was killed, while the rest fled back into Syrian land.

After searching the area, 476 palm-sized of hashish and more than 2.1 million drug pills were sized, the source added.
