Qatari and Omani companies sign ferry transport agreement
Qatari company Trans Oceans signed yesterday an agreement with Omani maritime transport company Naseera to facilitate the movement of ferries transporting goods, equipment, cars and tourists from the Sultanate of Oman to Qatar and vice versa.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Oman Products Exhibition (OPEX) by Qatar Chamber board member Mohammed Johar Said Al Mohammed and executive director of Naseera, Ahmed Said Al Humaidi.
Over 100 companies based in Oman participated in the exhibition which was held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).
The agreement assumes importance as it will boost the trade between the two countries. Companies from Qatar and Oman are looking to increase business activities. Large number of Omani companies, including several small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs), are negotiating with local businesses and investors to establish partnerships aiming to set up factories and production units in Qatar.
