Qatar- Emir meets US Secretary of Defence

Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with US Secretary of Defence, James Mattis, and his accompanying delegation at Al Udeid Air Base, yesterday. The meeting discussed means to strengthen and develop strategic defence partnership and cooperation ties in the military field. It also reviewed both countries' efforts in combating terrorism and extremism. In addition, the meeting discussed regional situation and developments, notably the Gulf crisis. Emir also met at his office at Al Bahr Palace with Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Italian energy company Eni.
