Kuwait- One detained, one sought as police found robbing expats
According to security sources, the police received several complaints including some from salesmen of various shops, against three thieves, two of who had police IDs. The robbers used to stop expatriates who are violators of the residency law and rob them of their possessions, and then demand them to go a police station and wait for them there.
As for shops, the policeman who is at large used to visit shops, check the civil IDs of the expatriate salesmen, and play the same game if they are found to be in violation of the labor law.
After intensive investigations, detectives raided the houses of the two suspects in Abu Halifa and Al-Riqqa areas, arrested them and referred them to the authorities where victims recognized them in a police lineup. Reportedly, the policeman used a police vehicle for his crimes and had once even crashed into the car of one of the victims and sped off. Police raided the house of the key suspect, the head of the gang, but he was not there. Investigations are underway to find and arrest him.
