Probable runners for Day 1 of Arc weekend announced


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) There should be ten fillies in Qatar Total Arabian Trophy des Juments (Gr1 PA) on Day One of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe tomorrow.
Trainer Thomas Fourcy will have three runners, including Al Shaqab Racing-owned Almaa, already a winner of two Group 2 PA races.
Damien de Watrigant has kept Gr3 PA winner Jamaheer and Muneera, who has been placed in Gr3 PA, while Francois Rohaut has left Karimah, who finished second in a Gr1 PA at Newbury in July. Seven probable runners were registered on Wednesday for the Qatar Prix du Cadran (Gr1). Winner of 2015 edition of the race, Mille et Mille will try and bounce back with a win, after having finished seventh last year.
Vazirabad, recent winner of the Qatar Prix Gladiateur (Gr3), will try and go one better than his second place finish in 2016. Michael Bell has kept Big Orange, who was second in the Qatar Goodwood Cup Stakes (Gr1), on the list.
In the Group 2 Qatar Prix Chaudenay, there should be 11 runners. Andre Fabre supplemented Prix Noailles (Gr3) winner Soleil Marin on Wednesday morning. Pascal Bary has left Ice Breeze, winner of the Prix Hocquart Longines (Gr2), in the race, while Darbuzan, trained by Mikel Delzangles, is also listed.
The Qatar Prix de Royallieu (Gr2) caught the attention of eight mares including five three-year-olds. Baltic Duchess, second in Prix de Liancourt (Listed), has been supplemented. The Juliet Rose will make a return after having finished fourth in the Prix de Pomone (Gr2).
Prix de Pomone runner up, Traffic Jam, is on the list, while Freddy Head has left Listen In, who had won a Listed in the run up to tomorrow's race. Nine colts should take part in Qatar Prix Dollar tomorrow.
Carlos Laffon-Parias preferred this Group 2 race for for Recoletos, recent winner of the Prix Prince d'Orange (Gr3), instead of Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr1).
Fabre-saddled Avilius, who was second in Niel behind John Gosden's Cracksman, is in the list of runners. Five foreign horses still figure on the list: Robin of Navan, Wild Chief, First Sitting, Subway Dancer and Salouen.
In the day's last Group 2, Head-trained Gold Luck is the only filly in the nine-strong field for Qatar Prix Daniel Wildenstein.
Gold Luck is also the only three-year-old alongside Al Shaqab Racing's Buthela, who was supplemented by Fabre on Wednesday morning.
Gianluca Bietolini also kept Dicton (Lawman) on the list, after his good return in the Prix Quincey Barrière (Gr3).
