Ukraine and Israel come close to FTA conclusion


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine has held an intensive round of talks with Israel on the conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement. The parties discussed the issues related to the liberalization of commodity markets.

This was stated by Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister, Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska, the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine reports.

"Israel is a market in focus, as provided for by the export strategy of Ukraine. During the negotiation process, we have made significant efforts to accelerate the conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement in order to deepen economic relations with this country. We have held an intensive round of talks with the Israeli side, during which we considered the most important issues related to the liberalization of commodity markets and agreed on the relevant provisions of the draft wording of the agreement," Mykolska said.

As the Ministry's press service reports, the export of Ukrainian goods to Israel shows a steady growth. For the first seven months of 2017, the exports from Ukraine amounted to $345.7 million and increased by 25.6% compared to the first seven months of 2016.
