Jordan- Irbid: 19 Reported Cases of Scabies

IRBID —AlGhad— Several cases of Scabies have been reportedly documented in the Bani Kinana district of Irbid, north of Jordan, at least 19 documented cases this week, last of which were four cases reported yesterday, Tuesday, District Acting Governorer Ziad Rawashed told AlGhad.

The cases ranged in age and gender, but the last four reported cases were among families residing in Bedouin Tents who are unwilling to visit medical centres to receive treatment.

In the meantime, Rawashdeh said that they were banned from school as a precaution, to limit and contain the spread.

Until then, medical teams will be assigned to visit the patients at their homes to deliver treatment.

When asked, residents of Bani Kinana have said that Scabies is spread among the citizens of the district, but most refuse to go to the hospital.

As for the Yarmouk Government Hospital, Chief Physician Mohammad Maghairah reiterated to AlGhad that there has not been a single case of Scabies reported at the hospital.
