Boeing complaint elevates U.S. duties

(MENAFN) The U.S. Commerce Department on Tuesday hit first round anti-subsidy duties on Bombardier Inc's C Series jets after rival Boeing Co accused Canada of unfairly subsidizing the aircraft, a move likely to strain trade relations between the neighbors.

219.63 percent countervailing duty on Bombardier's new commercial jets forced a steep after it made an opening finding of subsidization, the department said.

110-130 seats aircraft were dumped under cost in the U.S. market last year while making a profit from unfair funding, according to Boeing.
