Qatar- Zad Holding ensures food security

Zad Holding showcased newly launched local products in market belonging to the brands, Qbake, QFM, and QFI/Yara, at the MedFood Exhibition held at Sheraton Hotel.
Due to the ongoing blockade, Zad has stepped up its efforts to provide a greater level of food security to the local population, to ensure that there is no interruption to the supply of its products, which are all essential staple foods, including flour, pasta, bread, and cooking oil.
While talking to The Peninsula, Mohammad Salman, Asst. Marketing Manager, said: 'Since the very first day, we are ready for any type of situation which can happen any day and any time. We took the ongoing crisis as a responsibility, we multiplied our capacity by three times. We have set up new plants for the production of juices as there was a shortage of juices in the country.

'Zad Holding introduced new ranges of juices and laban. We launched three new flavours of juices; orange, mango and apple. Dandy has come-up with a wide range of laban , which has five different varieties of laban including Laban Up, Laban Sharab, Laban Iran (Turkish version of Laban) and Fresh Laban. We have also brought in new six flavors in ice cream which are almond delight, peanut delight and many more.
Dandy has always been the front runner in implementing state-of-the-art technologies, be it the quality systems or safety standards. Dandy, being a local manufacturer, reaches markets quickly thereby ensuring that both quality and freshness are completely preserved, said a statement.
Among the visitors were some students from the Pakistani International School, who visited the ‘Dandy Stand' and had the opportunity to try some of the new ice creams recently launched as well as having a chance to customise their own Dandy ice cream with various toppings.Dandy has serviced the needs of Qatar for almost 20 years, supplying a wide range of Dairy, Ice cream and Beverage products. The company has recently undertaken a packaging re branding which has made the products more prominent in the stores.

'We have launched cake rusks in market recently. We provide our items to all sort of markets which include small markets, malls, hypermarkets, HMC and Qatar Airways as well. As we have increased our production on the other hand we never ran out of stock we always had enough stock to give to our customers, said Shah Ziaullah, Asst Sales Manager at QBake.
Students from Pakistani International School (PIS), also visited ‘QBake stand' , and had the chance to take home Qbakes Cake Rusks. The students were also informed about the manufacturing process for QFM, and for QFI newly launched edible oil brand ‘Yara'.
Mohammed Ibrahim, Qatar Flour Mills (QFM), Sales Manager told The Peninsula:'We have recently started our new edible oil range named ‘Yara'. This oil is frying oil and soon we will be launching the cooking oil as well. Yara is being imported from Oman, but soon it will be a product from Qatar. We are working on the setup of producing it in Qatar, by the first quarter of 2018 we will start our plant which will produce frying and cooking oil.
'We have not brought difference in our price structure as we offer the cheaper rates in market. We are getting our shipments through Oman, which has not brought any difference in our products delivery. We deliver our products on time, ongoing crisis has not made any difference but yet made us strong and self-sufficient, he added.
