UAE- Vayalil, shocked, looks to win war against obesity

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A shocked VPS Healthcare managing director Dr Shamsheer Vayalil conveyed his heartfelt condolences to family of Eman Ahmad.

Vayalil, who had followed the case on a daily basis and instructed the 20-member specialist team to use all possible resources to achieve the best outcome, said the fight against obesity will continue.

"This is a difficult moment for all of us. Eman had shown good improvement. We tried our best. My deepest condolences to Eman's family," Vayalil told Khaleej Times from Kerala.

Vayalil had always maintained that cost and time were never a worry for the hospital.

"There's no magic cure. We are willing to walk all that distance with the family," he had said.

Vayalil had grand plans with Eman, which extended beyond hitting 100-kg mark. Vayalil was set to take her to educational institutes and let Eman share her experiences with students. He wanted to make Eman an ambassador for fight against obesity.

With obesity being a serious issue among teenagers in the UAE, it was a great visionary plan that remains unfulfilled.

However, Vayalil added: "Eman will always be an inspiration in the fight against obesity."

Vayalil had once said that he wished to take Eman out in car and buy her an ice-cream at the Corniche. He had also promised her an electronic wheelchair as a gift. All of it now remains mere words as Eman loses her fight to survive.

For Vayalil, the battle is lost but war against obesity continues.
