Sudan elated at US decision to lift entry ban on its citizens

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KHARTOUM, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Sudanese Foreign Ministry hailed on Monday a decision by US President Donald Trump to remove Sudan from the list of citizens barred from entering the United States of America.

Ministry spokesman Qaribullah Al-Kheder said in a statement that Khartoum has welcomed the decision and re-affirmed efficiency of the Sudanese apparatuses to monitor travelers at the national air exits.

The US decision is a positive development in the history of the Sudanese-American relations and outcome of efforts exerted by stakeholders from the two sides, it added.

The official spokesman affirmed Khartoum's keenness on exerting further efforts to reach full normalization of relations between the two nations.

Washington last January issued a resolution restricting entry of citizens from Sudan, Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen. On Sunday, it issued a new decision cancelling Sudan and adding North Korea, Venezuela and Chad to the list. (end) mmm.rk
