Jordan- King meets with senior army officers


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Zarqa, Sept.25 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, the second 81st airborne battalion.

During a meeting attended by the Army Chief and a number of high ranking army officers, His Majesty expressed his pride in army personnel, pointing out to the important role of the armed forces and security apparatuses to ensure security and achieve development in the Kingdom.

The King urged the government to adopt measures that will help protect the low and middle income classes.

His Majesty pointed out the importance of the income tax law in addressing the problem of tax evasion.

King Abdullah explained that the roots of the financial crisis in the Kingdom is the lack of necessary support from the international community, as well as the closure of borders with Jordan's main trading partners.

The King also highlighted the important issues discussed during the meetings of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
