AMMAN —AlGhad— According to a police source, at least 20 inmates at the Imm Al Lulu correctional facility have abstained from eating yesterday, Sunday, in protest over alleged breaches of prisoner and human rights at the facility in Mafraq.

The source told AlGhad that the prisoners are demanding to be transferred to other facilities.

Meanwhile, the government's human rights coordinator, Basel Tarawneh, confirmed the strikers broke their '2-hour fast as soon as their demands were delivered to the Prisons Administration.

Additionally, Tarawneh reaffirmed that there is no 'food strike at the Imm Al Lulu penitentiary; that it was only a small group of inmates, most in for terrorism related charges.
