TMC senior leader Mukul Roy quits party, may join BJP

Senior leader Mukul Roy has said that he would quit TMC and the Rajya Sabha. The speculations are rife that he would join the saffron party.
Interestingly, WB BJP president Dilip Ghosh had said that Roy was in touch with BJP's senior leadership.
Of late, Roy has had a strained relationship with TMC and was recently removed as the party's VP after it restructured its committee.

Mukul Roy said, "With a heavy heart, I am announcing that I will quit the primary party post of Trinamool Congress and the Rajya Sabha membership. I will formally resign after the Durga Puja break." He further clarified, "After five days I will explain everything."
