Puerto Rico's medical services in critical conditions after hurricane


(MENAFN) Puerto Rico's medical services had been in critical condition since the strongest storm hit the island in decades and left hospital flooded, strewn with rubble and dependent on diesel generators to keep patients alive.

However, the shape of the island's medical facilities is adding to the misery and devastation of this US territory which have 3.4 million residents.

Since all residents of the island are American citizens, the only option for many of them is to evacuate to the US for treatment.
