Walt Disney warns to pull programming from Optimum


(MENAFN) US Walt Disney had warned the fourth largest US cable distributor, Altica USA, from pulling its programming it both partied did not reach deal before the end of the month.

Altica, the New York-based conglomerate owned by a European part and better known as Optimum, confirmed that Disney asked for 'hundreds of millions of dollars' in new fees to be able to continue carrying ESPN and ABC.

However, both parties were working on new contract to replace the one that expires by the end of the month, and according to media reports, Disney warned customers that channels will go dark by October 1st if the new deal did not work out.
