Rain clouds expected in some parts


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Rain, thundery conditions and low visibility due to dust were reported from parts of the country yesterday, the Qatar Met department said.
Today, rain clouds are again expected by afternoon along with a humid night, according to the weather report.
Information available on the Met department's Twitter account showed that scattered thundery rain was detected in some places yesterday, especially the northern and central areas of the country. The weather office also issued alerts on low visibility due to rising sand and dust.
Informing that a thunderstorm had been detected in Jumayliyah, the Met department advised people to 'watch out for rising dust and poor visibility due to strong downdraft winds accompanying the thunderstorm. It also posted a video on hail falling in an area near Jumayliyah.
Other videos available on the social media accounts of the department showed cloudy, dusty and rainy conditions in different areas.
Today's detailed forecast says hazy to misty conditions are likely in some places in the early hours of the day, followed by hot daytime conditions and a chance of local rain cloud formation by afternoon. It will become humid by night.
A maximum temperature of 38C is expected today in Doha, Mesaieed, Wakrah, Abu Samra and Al Khor, followed by 36C in Dukhan and 35C in Ruwais.
The minimum, on the other hand, may drop to 23C in Abu Samra and Dukhan, while in Doha it will be 30C.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was 42C in Batna and 41C in Sheehaniya, Karana and Ghuwairiyah. In Doha, it was 38C.
