(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Sept. 24 (Petra)-- Israeli occupation forces continued to close around 512 Palestinian shops in the old city of Hebron under Israeli military orders.
The Chairman of Hebron Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed Al-Harbawi, Sunday said in a statement that some 1,300 Palestinian merchants were forced to close their stores due to the continued Israeli occupation forces violations, and extremist settlers attacks against them, which prevent citizens from shopping and reaching the area.
Al-Harbawi said that the Israeli government's decision to expand powers of municipal council for settlement purposes in the city aims to Judaize the old town and isolate it from its surroundings.
This is one of the most dangerous decisions taken by the occupation government since 1967, he explained.
