Qatar and its residents are getting ready to welcome the Emir after his successful visit abroad. The people are preparing to welcome back the Emir with a solidarity event today evening at Corniche.
Hashtags in Arabic (Maghrib prayer at Corniche on Sunday) and (Qatar welcomes Emir) are trending in Qatar and people are planning to pray at Corniche and welcome the Emir when he arrives back from New York after delivering an historic speech at the opening session of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
A spontaneous action by Twitterati to show their solidarity and love, many officials and cultural leaders were seen tweeting with the hashtag.
Qataris and expats are tweeting of their plans to offer the Maghrib prayer at 5.30pm at Corniche along with their family in solidarity with Qatar and Emir.
H E Sheikh Joan bin Hamad Al Thani tweeted with the hashtag . (loosely translated as 'To welcome the master of the house ..)
According to Arabic daily Al Sharq Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti initiated the hashtag by tweeting, "On Sunday Maghrib prayer at the Corniche to welcome the leader of the house."
Marsal Qatar, a popular news network, tweeted a map showing all public utilities on the Corniche road for people who are attending the popular reception.
'A map of the public spaces and facilities available at Doha Corniche today for popular reception' the tweet said.
Ooredoo Qatar also tweeted and messaged about the celebration saying 'We hope to see you tonight to celebrate the Emir's return to Qatar!
'Please comply with all official instructions to keep everyone safe and help you get there on time, they added.
People are also tweeting that they will be carrying rugs for mass Magrib prayer and the mobile mosques also should make it easy for the faithful to offer prayer.
The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had visited Turkey, Germany and France before heading to New York to deliver a comprehensive speech about the Gulf Crisis and how some neighbouring countries are seeking to destabilise a sovereign state by imposing unjust blockade.
He also met with the US President Donald Trump while in New York.
Emir was able to impress upon the world community about the steps Qatar has taken for peace in the region and also the humanitarian steps by Qatar in many conflict areas.
The residents said that the speech has made entire Qatar proud. The people lauded the fact that the Emir raised the issues of Arab, Palestinian and persecuted people of Myanmar calling the international community to bring about immediate solutions for them.
