(MENAFN) Foreign Minister of Syria Walid Muallem said during the United Nations General Assembly that complete victory was within reach in the country.
He said during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, "The liberation of Aleppo and Palmyra, the lifting of the siege of Deir al-Zour and the eradication of terrorism from many parts of Syria prove that victory is now within reach".
The Islamic State group in eastern province lost the country's largest gast field to Syrian fighters last Saturday, during their competetion with the government forces for the region, according to a senior official of the group.
